Who Is Analog Restorations?

Analog Restorations didn't begin as a cork mat company.

For more than a decade, we restored, repaired, and sold vintage turntables. We helped people discover vinyl by bringing classic equipment back to life and making it reliable for everyday listening. That hands-on experience taught us something important: the smallest details can have a big impact on how a turntable performs. When the market shifted toward affordable modern turntables, we noticed nearly all of them shared one thing in common—a basic platter mat. Manufacturers invested in better cartridges, tonearms, and features while treating the mat as an afterthought.

We knew it could be better.

Years earlier, we'd experimented with cork mats and liked their sonic qualities, but we also saw their shortcomings. Poor-quality cork could be brittle, inconsistent, generate static, or even risk scratching records. Rather than accepting that "all cork is the same," we set out to prove otherwise. Working closely with a specialized U.S. cork manufacturer, we spent months testing materials, refining formulas, and improving every detail. The result wasn't just another cork mat—it was a product built from the ground up to solve the problems we'd experienced ourselves.

That's one difference between Analog Restorations and many other brands.

We aren't a marketing company that found something to print on. We're audio enthusiasts who developed a better product first. The artwork and designs are an extension of that product—not the reason it exists. We don't claim to have invented cork platter mats, and we don't believe being first automatically means being best. Progress happens because someone is willing to improve what's already there.

That's been our philosophy from day one.

Everything we make is driven by experience, engineering, and a genuine love of analog audio. Our goal has never been to sell another accessory—it has always been to create products that make listening more enjoyable.
